Exodus MCC's History celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride

In 1999, the first time in it's 29-year history, Exodus MCC held a Pride walk, which was attended by several members of the church and their friends and family.

In 2022, Exodus showed up with in style with the theme: "Community is our middle name!".  We participated in both the parade and the festival in the first ever Pride event.

In 2023, Exodus MCC continued its participation of Abilene Pride with the theme: "Stepping out for 43 years".  This year saw a larger pride float and festival booth.  Associate Pastor Rev Scottie Shelton was also the Grand Marshal of the 2023 Pride Parade.

In keeping with Abilene's 3rd Pride Parade's theme in 2024: "Rainbow Rodeo", Exodus MCC's Pride Committee chose the theme: "Queers of the Wild West" to reflect our all inclusive heart and maverick spirit of being the first and longest LGBTQ+ organization in Abilene, Texas!  Photos to come!

If your faith community is not participating in this year's PRIDE parade, you are welcome to walk with ours.
